The course begins on Saturday at 8:00 am and ends on Friday at 1:00pm. The following is the daily schedule for the Yoga for the Special Child Basic Certificate Program – Part 2.

 

DAILY SCHEDULE

 

DAY 1

 

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00 am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast

10:45 am - Orientation and Introduction

11:15 am - Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Study and comments

12:00 pm - Practicum - Deeping your Surya Namaskar - Mantras of.

01:00 pm - Lunch and rest period

02:00 pm - Teaching Asana Choreography to teens 13 - 16. Physical, emotional and energetic benefits.

03:00 pm - Teaching Asana Choreography to teens 16 and up.

04:00pm - The benefits of deep relaxation - Practicum

04:30 pm - End of the day.

 

DAY 2

 

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00 am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast

10:45 am - Teaching Hatha Yoga to teens of different challenges. Videos presentation by participants.

11:45 am - Adapting a Yoga Class to the population with CP age 16 and up - Part 1.

12:40 pm - Meditation

01:00pm - Break for lunch

02: 00pm - How to prepare an Asana Choreography - adapting the Asanas for challenging teenagers.

03:00 pm - One-on one/Group Class with teenagers -Video presentation by participants

04:00 pm – Guiding the group into a deep relaxation

04:30 pm - End of the day.

 

 

Day 3

 

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast

10:45 am - Preparing a Yoga routine for a teenager with CP, DS, and Autism - Age 13 and up.

11:50 am - Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Study and comments

12:00 am - Anatomy of the Asanas of Hatha Yoga- Improving relaxation and flexibility

01:00 pm - Lunch and rest period

02:00 pm - Video presentation: One-on-one or Group Class with Children by participants - Ages 13 and up.

03:45 pm - Teaching Yoga to teenagers - Enhancing balance and alignment - Age 13 and up.

04:30 pm - End of the day.

 

 DAY 4

 

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast

10:45 am - Group Classes - Age 13 and up - Settings for a successful Hatha Yoga class - mixed levels.

12:00 am - Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - Study, comments and Meditation.

01:00 pm - Lunch and rest period

02:00 pm - Video presentation by participants - One-on-one (Age 13- 15) - Cerebral Palsy

03:45 pm - Video presentation by participants - Group class (Age 13-15) Mixed level

04:30 pm - End of the day.

 

DAY 5

 

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast

10:45 am - Yoga Asana Choreography by participants.

11:45 am - Teaching Hatha Yoga to teenagers of different challenges and ages - Adapting the Yoga Asanas and Pranayama - Part 2.

01:00 pm - Lunch and rest period      

02:00 pm - Video presentation by participants: Autism (Age 16 and up)

03:30 pm - The relationship between relaxation and flexibility. Techniques to improve relaxation and flexibility.

04:30pm - End of the day.

 

DAY 6

08:00 am - Kriya, Mantra Meditation and Pranayama

09:00am - Hatha Yoga class 

10:30 am - Breakfast
10:45 am - Living Gita - study and Comments 
11:45 am - Teaching Pranayama, Mantra and introduction to Meditation to teen
01:00 pm - Lunch and rest period
02:00 pm – Living Gita – Study and Comments
03:00 pm - Video presentation by participants – Sonia’s feedback
04:00 pm - Deep relaxation - Practicum
04:30 pm - End of the day

DAY 7

08:00 am - Mantra and Meditation

08:30am - Morning Sadhana.
09:45 am - Breakfast and preparation for Graduation.
11:00 am – Sat Sang and Graduation
01:00 am - End of the Program
