Ryoko first took Yoga for the Special Child Program in London in 2009, when she was a graduate student in developmental psychology. Her own yoga practice and her academic interest came all together in Yoga for the Special Child (YSC) program. Ever since, she has been studying with Sonia and completed 200-hour Yoga teacher training in 2016. She hosts YSC program in Japan every year and working to develop such community in Japan. She completed her Doctor’s degree in Life Science in 2018. She teaches Yoga for the Special Child private sessions, and also provides yoga sessions for various populations, including adults and teens in psychiatric hospital. She also travels to other areas/countries affected by disaster, to provide yoga sessions to support their wellbeing. She applies Yoga for the Special Child method to those in need, and always amazed with the power of yoga. She feels very honored to be a co-teacher with Sonia’s guidance, and grateful to be a part of beautiful YSC family.
