Ryoko first took a Yoga for the Special Child Program in London in 2009, when she was a graduate student in developmental psychology. Her own yoga practice and her academic interests came together during this training. Ever since, she has been studying with Sonia Sumar completing her 200-hour Yoga teacher training in 2016. She hosts YSC trainings in Japan every year and is working to develop a YSC community in Japan. She completed her Doctor’s degree in Life Science in 2018. Ryoko teaches Yoga for the Special Child methods in  private sessions, group classes for various populations, including  adults and teens in inpatient hospital settings. She also travels to other areas/countries affected by disaster, providing yoga sessions to support the wellbeing of those impacted.  She is always amazed with the power of Yoga! She feels very honored to be a YSC teacher under Sonia’s guidance, and is grateful to be a part of this beautiful, worldwide YSC family.
