Sonia Sumar and Renata Sumar Gaertner teach a 100-hour Intermediate Teacher Training program online this weekend. This training is designed to help teachers develop more skills to work with adults, both with and without additional needs. The program will focus on developing personal practice and studying scriptures such as the Living Gita, Upanishads, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika (scriptures may vary based on the group being worked with). Participants will also learn advanced pranayama techniques and practice methods to deepen their meditation practice. Additionally, there will be anatomy and physiology classes covering the fascia, tensegrity, biomechanics of asanas, and types of contraction, focusing on asanas as we explore how people can benefit from these practices. If time allows, there will be discussions on the polyvagal theory and how yoga can help stimulate the ventral vagal. The program will also cover topics such as asanas, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, yoga philosophy, and how to use these concepts to guide students and oneself in asana sadhana.

This comprehensive program, led by renowned yoga masters Sonia Sivakami Sumar and Renata Sumar Gaertner, will:

  • Deepen your understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy & physiology, and teaching methodology.

  • Refine your practice with advanced asana techniques, pranayama, and meditation. ️
